Site Showcase: Body By Ashanthi
I am so excited to introduce you all to Hester! Hester is the leader of an amazing group of designers in Singapore, and I have really enjoyed getting to know her over the past year. Late night chats here - are early morning squarespace discussions there and I am so glad she jumps on to Slack at all hours!
This site is so gorgeous. I am in love with the banner and how it's clean yet totally gorgeous. Delilah Creative has done an incredible job of using all the new blocks and features for their client from image block 2.0 plus a great design on the services page! Don't miss that one!
Client's Site Description: Personal Trainer & Wellness Coach
Template Chosen: Rally
Why did you choose that template?: We wanted the flexibility of the Rally template, which allows us to easily strip out all the sample content and get busy with the advanced options that the Brine family of templates offers us as designers!
What was the Client's Objective?: To inspire, educate and motivate potential clients to get fit and healthy
Tell us a bit about the design process?: We worked with this client on her branding as well, as well as the naming of her brand, so we went into the design process quite clear about what we were trying to achieve. We wanted to create a site that looked like a custom Wordpress site, and we were lucky that our client had invested in some beautiful photography for us to work with!
How did you help the client differentiate their business through design?: The client was very clear about what they were looking for, and had a strong aesthetic sense which was really helpful! A lot of personal trainers can be quite intimidating, so we wanted to create a feel that was really approachable and friendly, and we did this by using a soft colour scheme, and a really fresh, clean look that feels quite unique in the market, and allowed the client's personal brand to be front and center.
Is there custom development? What about custom added CSS? Can you tell us why you did or did not use these edits?: There is quite a bit of customisation, but it is all quite subtle! One of the parts we really love is on the Products & Services page where we were able to create this really beautiful stacked gallery to lay out all of Ash's offerings. We also couldn't resist adding some custom hover effects to buttons. We also added a scrolling "back to top" button, and used Squarespace's new promotion pop-up tool.
What are the top three creative features you used in the design?: * Beautiful custom photography of our client
* Subtle accent features, like a little scroll dividing element, a personal signature and a watercolour texture
* The header banner image is an element we especially love, that brings together the three pillars of our client's brand
