Client's Site Description: DoTerra Essential Oils + Overall Wellness

Template Chosen: Bedford

Why did you choose that template?: It took me a while to find the best template since it was crucial we had the blog sidebar, but she also has beautiful photography for her products and I wanted them to shine with full bleed images!

What was the Client's Objective?: To educate and sell DoTerra products and blog about her recipes, health, wellness and motherhood journey

Tell us a bit about the design process?: I had so much fun working with Amillia on this site! I worked with her on her logo + branding design and then circled back to do her site! She did everything on the site herself - she took her photos AND wrote all her own content. There is a LOT of information on this site about the essential oils, so I really worked with her to pair it down and make it the most user friendly and readable as possible. A lot of planning went into the design execution!

How did you help the client differentiate their business through design?: With essential oils there is A LOT of information. We wanted this site to be clean, concise and informational but with a stand out brand, inviting colors and bright photography. It's a lot of information presented in an inviting way that makes you want to learn more and get to know Amilia more! It's personal and connects with the reader.

Is there custom development? What about custom added CSS? Can you tell us why you did or did not use these edits?: I added a little CSS with markdowns to create the "+" drop down in the FAQ! There was a ton of info to pack in here and it made it much cleaner and easier to read. I also did a little CSS on the social media colors to match the brand and the galleries.

What are the top three creative features you used in the design?:

 1. The + drop down menu on the FAQ page and the little icons with it

2. The category graphics on the homepage 

3. The color blocking with the footer and newsletter sign up - I love the contrast and feel like it stands out

Vendors used?: Amilia did all of her own photography and copy writing!
