Site Showcase: Phoenix Insurance

If you think an inquiry from an insurance company isn't worth your time and effort, think again. Seriously. Design does not need to be boring, cue: this site showcase. This site has to be one of my favorite examples of service websites that keep to a brand style guide and do it without being boring. I love the overlay colors!

Squarespace website for insurance company

Client Site Description:  Professional Website

Template Chosen: Pacific

Why did you choose that template?:  At the time this site was built this was the template that for me was the most flexible in terms of having a good menu structure and pre-footer option.

What was the Client's Objective?:  To go from a one page site that was pretty old school to something a lot more modern, that wasn't your typical insurance site.

Tell us a bit about the design process?: I was really lucky with this site as Steve completely trusted me to do everything for him, from copywriting to the design. I have developed a process that works really well for clients who would like to have a really smooth design journey. So we worked together and created something that he really loves and is a lot more user-friendly and talks to his ideal clients.

How did you help the client differentiate their business through design? Insurance is a really old industry and has been around for a really long time. The look and feel of a lot of insurance sites were along the line of the old school thinking so we wanted to do something that was modern, colorful and stood out amongst his competitors.

Is there custom development? What about custom added CSS? Can you tell us why you did or did not use these edits?: I always use a lot of custom CSS in my designs because I want to provide clients with something really unique. Some of the main CSS coding I did was changing a lot of the padding around images to create really unique blocks on the home page, accordion FAQ, utilizing the ability to put background images into blocks and changing the opacity on the drop down menu.

What are the top three creative features you used in the design?:  I really loved combining the colours and the imagery to bring the idea of insurance to life, the general layout of each page is super simple and easy to navigate with no fuss, simple typefaces that keep it clean and modern.

Vendors used?: Copywriting: www.gemmaknightwrites.co
