Site Showcase: Plum Cheeky Solutions
One of the things I love about the brine template is that it doesn't HAVE to be this overly complicated layout website/header. Shaina exemplifies this in a branded simple and chic design here for Plum Cheeky Solutions. See the social media icons and search bar!? So great to have as an option than so many of the OG templates!
Client's Site Description: Organizing and planning blog and shop.
Template Chosen: Brine
Why did you choose that template?: I feel like I have so much more control with the Brine template than any other, and I love how versatile it is... it can work for any sort of business or purpose of website.
What was the Client's Objective?: She is launching a Kickstarter soon to produce and sell her planners and wanted a more cohesive brand feel to her website that would make it memorable and useful.
Tell us a bit about the design process?: This entire website, including the headshots and styled photography was completed in one weekend. A lot of the content (blog posts) were there already, but new copy was written for all bio's and the about page. We had so much fun working together in person to bring our ideas to life.
How did you help the client differentiate their business through design?: This was done through her tagline and how those elements are repeated and expanded upon throughout the site. Her goal is to Inspire.Encourage.Equip. Inspire through her own story and things she shares; Encourage through her blog posts; and Equip through her planners and printables. Her tagline was super inspiring to me and I wanted it to be the thread tying everything together.
Is there custom development? What about custom added CSS? Can you tell us why you did or did not use these edits?: Yes there is custom CSS added to the site...mostly used to customize the home page with full width elements, and make the footer blocks do what I wanted. I also coded bits of the blog posts themselves to make them meet typography standards for easy reading.
What are the top three creative features you used in the design?: Full width instagram feed in the footer, a slideshow gallery used in the header of the homepage to transition through images and add movement, cohesive use of her color scheme and images we shot.
Anything else you want us to know about the site?: We are still building out a resource library with her printable PDF's and are excited to make that happen!
Vendors used?: All work done by Your Ampersand Studio
