Site Showcase: Simply Whyte Design

We are loving the grid index galleries for Joanne's homepage for her gorgeous site - Simply Whyte Design. It's a great example of how you can think creatively with the layout within Brine.

Client Site Description: Professional Website

Template Chosen: Moksha

Why did you choose that template?: I've used it previously and as part of the Brine family, it has a lot of great flexibility.

What was the Client's Objective?: To create a easy to use website, showcasing work and services

Tell us a bit about the design process?: As this was my own company site I had already got the branding, imagery, and copy together so it was more about putting together a layout that I liked along with all the functionality that I needed.

I had a Squarespace site with a template already installed so I picked a template that was more flexible and had what I needed and then started to put together the framework.

How did you help the client differentiate their business through design?: As my business has grown over the last year products and services needed to become a lot clearer and the whole site needed more call to action buttons and in general, just needed to flow a bit better.

Is there custom development? What about custom added CSS? Can you tell us why you did or did not use these edits?: There is a lot of CSS in this site as I love it!

There are a lot of background colors added to sections, on the home page the poster blocks are full width, the contact form is custom, all the accordions are styled, styled tag cloud, a custom testimonial slider, the newsletter form in the footer and the blog width.

What are the top three creative features you used in the design?: I would have to say I always take advantage of what Squarespace has in terms of elements that it comes with and then using CSS to create something that is a bit more custom and to my liking.

Anything else you want us to know about the site?:
