Site Showcase: The Art of Style
Sarah of Alisabeth Designs reminded us how chic a fashion blog can look when designed on the Skye template! We love the monochrome branding and the throwback blog sidebar used effectively to promote the client's other social channels. Check out more of Sarah's work by clicking the link at the bottom of the post!
Template Chosen: Skye
Why did you choose that template?: This client wanted a clean, minimal feel and skye gave us the power to customize all the little details without compromising the true "fashion blogger" format of the blog theme.
What was the Client's Objective?: To have a beautiful, clean and minimalistic fashion blog.
Tell us a bit about the design process?: We started off with the Skye template, after we chose this template for its clean aesthetic and minimal approach we started adding in custom features like a faux blog for the homepage, where we added in a "sidebar" and customized the layout of the faux blog by creating summary blocks, galleries, and incorporating custom imagery.
How did you help the client differentiate their business through design?: We helped Brianna through the design by creating custom imagery featuring her style photos and links to pages within her site to make her navigation truly unique to her.
Is there custom development? What about custom added CSS? Can you tell us why you did or did not use these edits?: We added in custom fonts, imagery, we re-arranged the format of the site with custom CSS, all to give this site a completely custom design.
What are the top three creative features you used in the design?: The top three creative features we used were custom imagery, branded fonts, and a custom 'homepage' complete with a sidebar.
