Site Showcase: Wanderlust Wedding Co.
Everything about the Wanderlust Wedding Co. website and brand makes us want to start pinning wedding inspo on Pinterest like crazy! We love the playful graphics and colors built out by Rachell de Luna of The Artist Scientist, check it out.
Template Chosen: York
Why did you choose that template?: I love the Project Page! Since my client would like to highlight galleries of weddings that took place in different countries, I looked for a template which would showcase such a gallery. Moreover, we anticipate that this part will be easily updated without tedious layout building.
What was the Client's Objective?: To have a digital space for their destination wedding business where they combine their expertise on travel planning and wedding planning.
Tell us a bit about the design process?: Since the discovery call, Sarah and Heather had been very transparent that they were drawn to my hand-drawn/hand-painted style but would like the logo to be more timeless and classic. They gave me a lot of liberty in building the mood board especially in choosing the brand's color palette. I figured that a whimsical and handlettered 'W' and paper plane illustration could make their brand more iconic - and they loved the idea! I then proceeded with designing their brand collaterals and website. It was a breeze working with them and we finished the website in two weeks!
How did you help the client differentiate their business through design?: I believe I was able to highlight their strengths through custom patterns and illustrations, we were able to emphasize that the team is experienced in 'making every dream destination wedding' come true.
Is there custom development? What about custom added CSS? Can you tell us why you did or did not use these edits?: I added very little custom CSS since York is lovely without any. I added a code to fix the header and to change the color of the line block. That's it!
What are the top three creative features you used in the design?:
